UNDERSTANDING BREAKING LIMITATIONS (Part 1)

BELIEVE what the Lord your God is telling you through His Prophets that 2026 is the Year of Breaking Limitations and you shall be established and prosper (2 Chron. 20:20)! The theme is drawn from the Philippians 4:13. In order to exercise the Faith (believe), it calls for understanding what limitations are and how they are broken.

According to various dictionaries, limitations have various meanings depending on the context. In our context:
a) Limitations are usually restrictions that acts as barriers or obstacles to control someone from doing what is allowable or possible, thus preventing individuals from being perfect or fully effective.
b) Limitations are levels or boundaries beyond which a person or something cannot exceed.
Biblically, human beings have various limitations that include the following:

i) As created beings, man is limited in knowledge, power, presence, time, space and life as compared to God who is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent. Thus, the dependency in God through humility and trust is essential (Isaiah 55:8–9; Acts 17:28; Proverbs 3:5–6; 1 Corinthians 13:12).
ii) Under the sinful nature, man is under the disruptive limitation of being rebellious and disobedient to God, selfish and evil; a condition he cannot overcome on his own due to the fallen will (Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 7:18–19). The implication here is dire spiritual restrictions.
iii) The law inherent limitation. Whereas the OT diagnosed sin, the inherent limitation was that it could not cure it or empower obedience; thus desperately pointing to need of a Saviour (Romans 8:3; Galatians 3:21–22).

The Biblical response to human limitations is not resentment, but a call to recognize them rightly and find a solution in God. Yes, the starting point is to PERCIEVE your limitation(s) that restrict accomplishment of your Divine Purpose and then turn to God! God has offered Power that transform our human weakness to Divine Strength through Faith in Jesus Christ! I repeat, God’s Sufficiency is manifested in our insufficiency through Christ who helps us break all our limitations! Remember, our “doing all things is not in self abilities but in Christ empowerment through infusion of Divine strengths into us”! 2026 therefore calls for full dependency and reliance in God alone like NEVER BEFORE!!!
